Share Your Lists
OnNotting is built on real travel tips from real people. We feature lists of top and favorite places or experiences that you would recommend to a friend.
What You Can Contribute
Every submission should be a list of your top or favorite spots, or your recommendations of things to do, try, and experience. Your list can focus on a city, a neighborhood, or even a whole country.
It should never be just one place or one recommendation. A contribution is always a collection, a set of picks, a true list.
Examples:
Food Lists: My top 5 matcha cafés in Osaka, my favorite hotpot spots in Taiwan, the best chicken rice stalls in Singapore
Things To Do: Top 7 things to do on a weekend in Hong Kong, my favorite rooftop bars in Bangkok, my top 5 hidden temples in Kyoto
Personal Picks: My favorite restos in Cubao Expo, my go-to street food in Kuala Lumpur, top places I always bring friends in Tokyo
Tips or Hacks: How to clear immigration faster in Vietnam, the quickest way to get from Narita Airport to Tokyo, the best apps I use to save money on rides in Bangkok
Keep it personal, helpful, and easy to follow.
How to Contribute
Start with a Title
Make it clear what your list is about.Example: My Top Things to Do in Hong Kong on a Weekend
Add a Short Description or Intro (optional)
Write one or two sentences as an introduction.Example: I only had two days in Hong Kong, so I made a list of my top spots to eat, shop, and explore for a quick weekend trip.
Build Your List
Each entry should include:Place or Experience Name: restaurant, café, bar, shop, activity, class, etc.
What to Try or What You Loved: a favorite dish, must-order, or activity highlight
Example: We loved their pottery class or The garlic butter shrimp is a must-order
Short Note: one or two sentences on why it is worth checking out
Add Photos (optional but encouraged)
Share shots of the food, the place itself, or you enjoying the experience
List Formats You Can Use
Your list does not always need to be in bullet points. Choose the style that fits your content:
Numbered Lists – Best for rankings or “top picks”
Example: Top 5 Ramen Shops in Tokyo
Use numbers when you are counting down or ranking from best to good
Bulleted Lists – Best for collections without ranking
Example: My Favorite Coffee Shops in Seoul
Use bullets when every item is equally recommended
Lettered Lists (A, B, C) – Best for categories or grouped ideas
Example: A: Best Rooftop Bars, B: Best Street Food, C: Best Local Markets in Bangkok
Step-by-Step Instructions – Best for travel hacks or how-to guides
Example: How to Clear Immigration in Vietnam Faster
Fill out your arrival form online before flying
Prepare the visa approval letter and passport photo in advance
Use the “Visa on Arrival” counter instead of the regular immigration line
Have cash in USD ready for the stamping fee
Use steps when explaining how to do something in order, especially for travel tips that save time or stress
Sample
My Fave Burgers in Manila
When the craving hits, these are the burgers I always go back to.
Sweet Ecstacy – The Grilled Cheeseburger is a winner. Gooey cheese with a juicy patty that melts together perfectly.
Army Navy – The California Burger is giving with its sauce, fresh toppings, and all-around flavor bomb.
Jollibee – The Yumburger is pure nostalgia. Simple, sweet-style beef patty that takes you back to childhood.
