Favorite Restaurants in Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal

Sampaloc in Tanay is so big it could be its own town. Just two hours away from Manila, it’s the Tagaytay of Rizal in my opinion because of its cool weather and mountain views. If you want to take photos and enjoy the sea of clouds, this is the place to be. Avoid weekends if you can, since it gets very busy.

Dean & Deluca Tanay

A new favorite in Tanay. The view alone makes the visit worth it, you can often catch a sea of clouds while waiting for your table. The hype is real, and the line gets long especially on weekends, but their Sourdough Margherita Pizza is absolutely worth it.

Kamala Café

A cozy spot serving Filipino and Thai comfort food. Their Kare-Kare and Pad Thai are my favorites, rich, flavorful, and perfect after a long drive through Tanay’s mountain roads.

Lanai by Annabel’s

Stylish and relaxing, Lanai by Annabel’s is best visited on weekdays when it’s less crowded. Expect a mix of local dishes done right, the Binagoongan Bagnet and Kare-Kare are must-tries.

Ernesto

Overweight 30-something who can’t resist good food and finds losing weight harder than saying no to dessert. 🍰
